FoLA – Contemporary Photography in Palermo Hollywood
The Latin American Photo Library or FoLA is a new cultural space in Palermo and a must-go for all photography amateurs.
FoLA (Fototeca Latino American) is located inside Distrito Arcos open-air shopping mall. The museum opened in 2015 and features three showrooms. The main one is dedicated to temporary exhibitions. In just a few years, renowned artists were featured, such as US photograph Vivian Maier and Graciela Iturbide from Mexico.
A smaller room hosts the permanent collection of over 200 photographs from Latin American artists, gathered by one of the gallery’s founders, Gastón Deleau. The permanent collection includes works from Adriana Lestido, Alberto Goldenstein, Marcos López, Liliana Porter, and Aldo Sessa. Works from FoLA’s resident artists are also on exhibition.
FoLA is well worth a visit on your way to Palermo Hollywood or Soho, just a walking distance from both touristic areas.
